We started this plan of as soon as a kid starts kindergarten they get one designated "date" a month alternating between mom and dad. So, Kaylee is going on 3 yrs of this and looks forward to it each month. She never forgets- its the first friday of every month and she knows it. We do anything she wants to do.. trafalga, bowling, hiking, snowmobiling, anything- its her choice. Now that Aspen is old enough she will be starting her monthly dates this weekend. Although I have to say, as parents, I think Dave and I look forward to them as much as the kids do.
So Friday was Kaylees date night with Dave and she wanted to go for a motorcycle ride to the mountain then get off and hike the rest of the way up. So they did. Dave renamed her mountain goat! On their way up they saw a little 2 pt deer, then they found this shed that Kaylee had to have of course. She wants to hang it in her room. She made Dave get some pictures of her looking like the one antlered deer off open season. She thought she was pretty funny! Here they are at the top of a little canyon behind our house over looking our little subdivision and the valley.

Shes a goof ball, but we love her! She opens up on the dates and has so much fun. She doesnt stop talking the whole date- now if we can just keep that up into and through her teenage years!!
