'twas the night befor Christmas...

Awe Christmas eve, the most exciting night of any kids life!! We did the normal this year. After spending most of the day with cousins we came home and made cookies for Santa and had dinner then watched a Christmas movie as a family.  We let the kids open one present and then got the cookies and thank you cards all ready for Santa and his helpers.  It was a fun, relaxing night.

Waiting patiently for the go ahead to open their one present while dang mom has to snap pictures :)

Cowboy boot slippers.. can it get any better than that?

Maybe.. Sparkley hello kitty slippers.

Or spider man for Caden

And camo for Briggs.

Watching a movie in their slippers with the doors open to the fireplace to get the real feel of Christmas.  I love it. Family together, popcorn, snuggling on the couch and the warmth of the fire and the crackling sound it makes. The smell, the look.  Right about now I was thinking how much I love my family and I love my life!

Caden liked to be closer to the fire.

I love the little drawing they made for Santa and for the Elfs. They are so cute.

Christmas break at Trafalga with cousins

During Christmas break we were able to spend time with cousins who were visiting from out of town.  On Christmas Eve we went to Trafalga to play for the day and the kids had a blast.

What ever they are shooting at better watch out!

One of their very favorite games.  Briggs would have played this all day if I would have let him.

Nothing beats the frog hopper! Dave with Briggs and Amelia with Nick

Ha ha.. hes not scared.  :)

Sleeping out the night before Christmas eve

The kids wanted to sleep by the Christmas tree on Christmas eve, but that obviously wasnt possible so we let them do it the night before. They loved falling asleep by the tree.

Smith family Christmas party

One of our most anticipated Christmas traditions is the Smith family Christmas party.  Its so fun for the kids to see all of their cousins, and for me to see my cousins and aunts and the whole family.  I remember these parties from when I was the age of my kids - its super crazy to me!

Aspen with Santa

trying not to smile.

Yea, a big my little pony that Santa brought her.

Kaylees turn

And Caden... Santas waiting to hear if hes been naughty or nice....

He was so funny. He jumped up on Santas lap and gave this cheesy smile for the longest time. I guess he wanted to make sure everyone that wanted a picture of him had enough time to get one  :)

Surprise.... horse stuff

And now Briggs turn

He was deciding if he liked Santa or not :)

But since he gave him a present he decided he was ok.

Yes, a airplane and helicopter that you can take apart and put back together.  He loves it.

Nothing better than a tractor and trailer for a little 2 yr old boy!

And these are the two that are responsible for all of this. Grandma and Grandpa Smith. We love them so much!!!

Still cracking jokes and sitting on Santas lap together. I love it!

Briggs and his tractor

Ha ha.. Alexa and Kandice were sitting by each other so I tied their hair together.  :)
