The beginging of the season

Last weekend for we headed out for our annual conference weekend camping trip to the basin. (some property by our house) We are so excited that it is finally camping season. Were ready for a little warmer weather, but its all good. It was so nice Sat morning. Then the wind kicked up which made for good kite flying weather.

Here's Dave and Caden flying a kite. Caden loved trying to get it in the air. Especially when it would crash land. It wasn't as much fun once it was up in the air.

Such good friends when they are sleeping..

And then we woke up to this on Sunday morning.... I really don't think there is anything quite like waking up to 4 in of snow when your out camping!!

Kaylee doing her crafts while we were listening to conference.
Briggs has so much fun crawling around and playing on the floor of the camper all weekend long. This was his first time camping and he loved it. He was so happy the whole time.

Lots of Cuddle time while listening to conference. Aspen is full of so much love. She loves to cuddle and kiss and hug. Dad is getting a big kiss from her. And Briggs loves to cuddle with dad too. He always has his tongue sticking out now.

The snow started melting on Sunday and the sun came out and it turned out to be a nice day. The kids had so much fun riding the toys in the snow and MUD! It got so muddy! They all made a race track around all the campers with mud puddles and all.

This is Aspen and her cousin Austyn racing around.
And she got a little muddy..
Everything was covered in so much mud! We tried to take the trailer with all the toys home and got stuck in the field for a while. Finally got unstuck and had to chain up the tires on the truck and take an alternate route to get home. Then we barely got the camp trailer out. My dad or my sister couldn't get theirs out and had to leave them until morning when the ground was froze to get out. I'm still cleaning mud out of my house. It was a lot of work but so much fun, and hopefully the kids will remember the good times and the great memories!

  1. I'm sure your kids will remember all the fun times you guys have. when they have their own kids they'll realize how hard and how much of a sacrifice it was to give them these fun experiences. Way to go! that sounds like it was a lot of WORK! But a lot of fun too. I miss being able to listen to conference on the radio.
