Recent Sarurdays.. sewing, playing, helping grandpa

Wow, I am so behind its terrible!! Well, I do have my excuses... every time I would try to put my pictures on my computer it would freeze, then when I finally got it to work, one of the kids shut off the computer then it wouldn't turn back on for a while, so for the moment everything is working, I better update.

The past few Saturdays we haven't really had much going s0 we have been doing some stuff around the house and the kids do stuff to try to keep them busy..

I would love to be our neighbors some times and just look out our windows at the crazy things their neighbors do :) we are pretty redneck and creative in what goes on in our back yard. Dave has big plans for a club house he is going to build in the spring so we needed some long telephone poles for the zip line across the backyard, so getting them through our gate and across the back yard was a little tricky..

Our gator was worth every penny we paid for it that day! But we got it where we needed it.

It was a nice day so we took the pony out for a walk
Aspen riding it with Caden and Dave leading her.

Caden loved riding it. Right after this picture they were walking and I guess ol Twix was tired because she decided to lay down. Caden stayed on good and after said Wow, that was really scary but I still want to ride her home.

Briggs loved to ride. He would throw a fit when we took him off.

Aspen found a tree to climb while we rested.

Kaylee was gone to a birthday party while we had Twix out. She came home looking like this.

Briggs liked eating the nasty ice from the mud puddles.

This is how Caden got her to go where he wanted her to go. He put some leaves in a bucket and she would follow

All my brothers were out of town one Saturday so we went with my dad to check the cows and tag any new calves. The kids thought it was pretty cool! There was only one new calf and luckily it was a nice cow, I haven't done it for years and years and years and Dave has never done it, so we didn't get ourselves killed.
After checking the calves they had to feed the other ones, so here they are helping grandpa in the tractor feeding them.

The only picture we got of Briggs, his popeye face, but its blurry.

Caden helping to see if there were any calves without tags.

Kaylee breaking the ice. She was strong and did it all by herself.

Kaylee with her beanie and then her cowboy hat. She had to wear her cowboy hat because we were doing cowboy stuff.

Aspen was happy as could be sitting with my mom the whole time.

One boring Saturday the girls got out their sewing machine and made some stuff all by themselves.

This Aspens masterpiece that she made all by herself.

Kaylee sewing away. She did this for hours.

This is what she made. With absolutely no help. A crayon holder. She made one for her and one for her friend and one for Caden. She did really good and it works good to held her crayons in her room. Shes pretty creative.

Kaylee and Aspen built cute snow man (the one storm of the year that we had enough snow to make anything!!) But, Aspen wrecked hers before I could get a picture.

Well, I still have lots of catching up to do, but this is a start. More to come!

  1. Those kids look so natural on Twix. I can't believe Caden and Briggs ride her too. How brave they are.

  2. Kaylee and Aspen are sure learning a good skill in sewing. How creative they are. Andrea, you are good to let them have the opportunity to do it.
