Tuesday night rides.... oh how we will miss you!!!

For the last couple of months, every tuesday night my neice would come watch our kids and we would go snowmobiling up west canyon. Usually Me, Dave, my sister Krista and her husband Kole would go, then off and on we would recruit others to go like my brothers Jeff, Greg, Riley, Cameron and others off and on. Man, we had so much fun!!!!!! We found some great places to go and beautiful scenery. But as of last week, there is officially not enough snow :( So, I think the sleds are parked until next season... oh how we will miss them! I never took my camera since the kids werent with us so these are the only pictures I have from my phone

This is Dave doing a hill climb.. Its actually a LOT steeper and longer than it looks. He tried to talk me into going up it and oh did I want to, but I just couldnt bring myself to but my baby to rist in my belly... right :)

It is a super fun ride to get up here, but a pretty steep one with fairly good drop offs on both sides. Someone got stuck coming up the hill and I decided to stop and wait while dave turned around to go help. But I didnt mind.. look and the scenery!!! We had such a fun time this year. Dave and his sled only took one good tumble head over heels down the hill. I would see Dave then the sled, then dave, then the sled then I just prayed the snowmobile would land first so it wouldnt be on top of dave. Well dave did land first but he was better than the bullriders getting away from their bull after they fall off. :) So, all was good!! Dave actually rides super good and I love to watch him. I would mostly sit in the meadows and just watch him. I would sometimes get brave and go try stuff, which usually led to me getting stuck and sitting there until somebody would come help me.. thats one of the perks of being pregnant. :) Thanks to those who would come with us and look forward to next year already!

KSL Classifieds... Good or Bad???

This is what happens when Dave is bored at night and spends a few hours browsing the classified adds on KSL. He finds things like this that we just HAVE to have. The one on the left is a 5 wheeler. We picked it up for my dad to use on the farm to haul fencing material, etc. Then the genuine "Gator" Is for us. We actually really like it. It has a hydaulic lift bed in the back, which we have already used many times around the yard moving material, wood, etc. We are now looking for a seat that can bolt in the bed with seat belts to carry the kids. The kids Love it and want to go for a ride everyday. In May we are going camping to Topaz mtn, looking for fossils and such, so this will be grandma Snyders ride and to carry all the tools.

This is when we were just loading them on the trailer to bring them home from slc. We got tons of weird looks.. I'm sure they were all just jelous!! :) right?
So, whats your vote... ban ksl?
jk... we are glad he finds us good deals on things that we can enjoy as a family :)

Way to go Stick!!

My Little brother Cameron (Aka Stick) who is a freshman in high school- only 15 yrs old went to a roping today in South Jordan. He roped against people of all ages and pretty much cleaned house!! :) He won 1st, 2nd, 3rd, I think 2 go arounds, and was the high point roper. A grand total of a new saddle, a buckle, a coat and $7,200 in CASH!!!! But, dont worry, my 12 yr old nephew Dylin gave him a run for his money. Dylin was really close to winning it, but unfortunately missed his last cow-man, he can rope, especially for his age :(... anyway, What the heck, I've never seen that kind of money. So, I ask, what do you plan to do with the money? he didnt even hesitate.. "An M1000" ( a new snowmobile). Man, how would it be? Good Job Stick!!

Winter time FUN

Im starting to be ready for spring.. I love the warmth and the kids being able to play outside.. and especially watching the things weve planted come back to live to grow delicious fruit for us. We planted grape vines and raspberries last year that I'm excited for when they start showing life again. But.... We have so much fun in the winter playing in the snow, sledding, snowmobiling.. ok mostly snowmobiling. We went out quit a bit this year and had a blast. Every Tuesday we go snowmobiling at night up west canyon (up kinda behind Cedar Fort) and weve had a blast. Its nice, we go with my sister Krista and her husband and whoever else we can talk into going and so their daughter Kandice watches our kids and they LOVE it! almost every day they ask if were going so kandice can watch them. We get back late so she has them all in bed and everything for us. Its crazy how different it is when you dont have 2 kids on there with you. Did you know your supposed to lean when your turning.. especially in the powder? I never did that with the kids :)
Can you say CHEESE?!?!
We took the kids out riding and sledding in a field by our house and krista, kole, and their kids came. They pulled each other behind the snowmobiles, we had a fire and roasted hot dogs and smores, and just hung out and played all day.

Dave with Brother!! He loves his dad (and his new sled :)

I Cant tell if Kaylee is screaming or laughing?

And the Crash :)... notice uncle Koles smile :)

Aspen warming up after the crash.

The whole crew.

They love to ride in the sled behind the snowmobiles.

What a nice sister... pulling Aspen back up. I wouldnt even do that... I made them walk back up :)

This is how much Caden likes sledding... and how comfy the new sled thing Dave made them to ride in.

This is the sweet sled/trailer thing Dave built the kids to ride behind the snowmobiles... Its AWESOME!! they love it most of the time. As you can tell its not all the way done. Just the frame work. He is going to enclose it and put seats in it and a windshield. Its so great to have such a capable husband who finds all the scrap metal for free and just decided to build something and can whoop it together in a few days!!! We sure Love him!
Kimball... You will definetly need to build one of these for your kidos so they dont have to sit on your lap when your out riding... Its a lot easier :)

And one last thing, as some of you know I've kinda started getting in to family history. Well a week or so ago, I was looking for some people who needed temple work and just kept following one line (from my Grandpa Smiths line) and following it and following it... I eventually came to Noah (prophet) and I didnt really believe it, so I kept following in thru people I knew I'd heard about in the scriptures... thru Abraham, Issaac and Jacob.. etc all the way to Adam (First man) and Eve (first woman) How crazy huh? I mean, I know we all came from Adam and Eve, but It was crazy seeing my own family history line go all the way back to them!! I know... I'm a dork.

Thats all for now..

Update time!!

Well, its been a while... I think its definetly time for an update. Here are a few of the things we have been up to the last month... starting with most recent first.

Dave Had his B-day last week on the 14th

The kidos sure love their dad!!

The girls were so excited.. I let them decorate for his party all by them self. They were pretty proud of it!

We are definetly the luckiest family in the whole world to have Dave be part of it. He really is the best husband and father anyone could ever ask for and we love him to pieces!! Hope you had a GREAT B-day Hunny!! We love you!!

We were able to go to my grandparents cabin by Mt Pleasant and sled, veg and snuggle by the fire. The kids had so much fun on the sleds, they didnt want to leave, and still talk about going back very soon. Caden loved this little ducky!! The funny thing is, I rememer this little guy from when I was a kid. I think its older than me.

Aspen

Kaylee---- Notice her arm!! As we were packing, just getting ready to load things in the car, she was running from the front room into the kitchen and tripped on something, slamming her arm on the hard wood floor! She immediately started screaming "My arm, I cant move my arm!" So, off we went to the instacare. Sure enough, she had broke her arm just above the wrist. Not a bad break, just a buckle fracture. So, I thought well, we will just go to the cabin anyway, and I'm sure she wont want to sled anyway.... RIGHT!!! it didnt slow her down for a second. Kids are amazing how they rebound so quick!!

CHRISTMAS!!!
Caden Jamming on his little piano Grandma Snyder gave him. He loves it!

Kaylee with her little Barbie laptop Grandma Smith gave her (As you can tell, she already got into Aspens makeup) :)

Aspen with her little jewelry box filled with makeup and jewelry. If she didnt love that :)

You see, my mom and dad have an indoor dog and the poor thing is just mauled to nearly death everytime we go there. Caden just runs to find it, then lays on it, pulls its hear, sits on it, picks its nose and pokes its eyes, and whatever else he can think of to torture the poor thing. So my mom got him this dog in hopes it would maybe replace her poor ol dog. Well, Caden does love it, especially at home where he doesnt have an indoor dog to maul, but still at grandmas everytime we go, he runs to poor ol Suzy!!

Yea, His first tool bench and tool set.... come on, would you really think Dad would get him anything else?

The girls on Christmas morning after opening their presents at home.

We hope you all had a safe and great holiday, and wish you the best for the new year!!!!

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth..

On sunday night Kaylee was messing around and fell off the couch and landed on her suitcase and it knocked her front tooth loose. It was already loose, but this just helped it on its way. She totally FREAKED out for about an hour (sorry to our visitors-Grandma, Grandpa, and Amelia and Andy and their kids-who we were so excited to see!!) and would not let us even get close to her for fear of us pulling out. We have been telling her all day it had to come out since it was barely hangin by a tread and after about an hour of bribes and threats and more fits, she agreed. Now shes excited to sing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!!!

Busy, busy, busy

Its been a while since I've uptaded the blog...sorry! We have had a lot of fun times. I love the Holidays!! Especially doing fun things as a family and just being with them!

Here are some things we have been up to....
We had our awesome Smith family Christmas party/Grandpa Smith birthday party. Happy Birthday Grandpa!! (its on christmas and he turned 80 this year.) Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!!! The kids have so much fun.

This is all Aspen wanted for christmas... a pink baby with wings. All night she just couldnt believe santa really brought her the baby and how nice Santa is!! :)
He still didnt decide if he liked him or not, but he never cried.

Kaylee had her school Christmas sing. She did really good singing and doing the actions! It was so fun to watch.

This is Kindergarten - 3rd grade just getting ready to sing.

Our first good snow storm..

Kaylee on her snowmobile of course. Aspen wasnt as interested in playing in the snow. She was happy to stay inside next to the fire, watching her princess shows! :)
Kaylee and Alexas (my sister) snow men
Visited Temple Square to see all the beautiful lights

Words cant express... Aspen cried most of the way home, she was so bumbed because she wanted to go IN the temple.

I Love it when they all look happy together! :)

I love the statues of Mary, Joseph and Baby jesus in the water with the temple in the back ground. SO PRETTY!

All bundled up to go see the lights at temple square.

Kaylees dance recital

The girls got to dress up as angels for our ward christmas party. They were pretty cute angels!!
