Cedar Fort rodeo

Ever since we got our pony Twix last year, Kaylee has wanted to enter the Cedar Fort rodeo and parade. So we let her and I think it was the highlight of her year!! Aspen surprised us and wanted to enter too and she had a ton of fun too!

Kaylee and Twix all ready for the parade

Woa pony!!

Camped out waiting for the parade to start with Aspens friend Brielle and Cadens friend Tucker

In the parade

Kaylee was so excited, her dad not so much that I made him walk along side of her the whole way :)

Kaylee and Twix zooming through the poles :)

Rounding the last pole..

And she made ol twix break into a lope on the way home :)

And Barrels

Again.. Loping home. Sometimes little Twix has a little bit of an attitude so we decided to give her a little sedative for the rodeo and parade so she wouldn't try anything silly on Kaylee at her first hometown rodeo.. and we may have over done it, she was a little tired :)

Getting ready to goat tye.

I love this picture. Her face of determination. She did really good and I was so glad because she had been practicing so hard.

She won goat tying.. A whoopin 24 dollars I think. She was beyond excited!!!

Kaylee and her pal Arlee that came to watch.

Kaylee and her uncle Griff getting ready to ribbon rope

They had a crazy calf that circled back to the top of the arena so they had a hard time getting to it, but did the best for the circumstances.

Kaylee running to the finish line.

Aspen and Griff doing ribbon roping. Griff caught the calf at the very end of the arena so little Aspen had to run the whole length of the arena and did awesome! She was running fast and its bumpy in there, I kept hoping she wouldn't fall and she didn't. She did awesome!! Her legs were so tired and hurt for a few days, but she had fun :)

Run Aspen, RUN!!

Almost there :)

A few weeks before the rodeo Krista gave Kaylee the entry form so she got it all filled out all by herself and even payed half her entry fees.

The horse picture she drew on the back for Krista.

And on the front. I think she likes horses :)
It was a super fun day! Both Kaylee and Aspen did so good and we all had a blast. Its always a fun rodeo where our whole family enters so we are most of the rodeo. Kaylee practiced so much on Twix for about 3 weeks before the rodeo she rode her every day and usually twice a day. She set up a little pole and barrel pattern in our back yard out of whatever she could find- tires, rocks, dump trucks, whatever was laying around :) Its a long but fun rodeo. They even made me team rope again this year and I even caught a few with our falling off :) until next year...

Cedar Fort 24th of July Pageant

Every year Cedar Fort has a pageant about when the valley was settled with people from the community acting it out. We have never been and decided this year we would try it out. It was really fun and the kids had a blast. It was fun to hear about our valley that long ago and learn about how it came to be.

I thought I got more pictures and of the pageant itself, but I guess I didnt. I just got the pioneer era games we played before.

Bangs!!

My girls had been contemplating cutting their hair. As I think it would KILL their dad we settled for cutting some bangs for something different. They were fun for about 2 days, now we are growing them back out. :) Kaylee wants to grow hers out because they dont look as good under a cowboy hat and Aspen wants to grow hers out because they get in her eyes when shes swimming.  :)

There goes 14 years of hair growth between the 2!!!

BSF - Best sisters forever :)

All cuddled up!!

LOVE these girls!!!!!!

Snake

Kaylee was going outside one day out the back door then came running back in slamming the door scared saying there was a snake outback. It kind of surprised me because she likes snakes. So we went out back and I caught it for her. It was just a cute little guy and pretty nice. She held it and played with it for a few hours then we went for a walk to release up behind our house.

Briggs with his cute baby walking up to release the snake :)

Caden has his finger gun out to shoot the red ants

Bye bye snake

And its off.

Kaylee giving Briggs a back ride back to the house.

Caden got this dollar from someone and was using it for our compass. He had to be the leader and follow the directions on the dollar to get us back home :)

Aspen lost her tooth..

The anticipation...!!!

And it came out! Aspen was so brave!

Toothless Aspen. She has lost one more since then. 2 missing teeth on the bottom.

Then Briggs was sad aspens teeth were getting all the attention so he had to show us his pearly whites  :)

Visits from Nick and Drew and Joseph

A few times this summer Dave's sister Amelia and her family came to visit. The kids always have so much fun together playing with cousins.. See the pictures for proof!

Serious water fights..

Lots of playing in the sand box

Aspen playing with her cousin Heaths turtle

Briggs giving kisses

With Nick and Drew in town there is usually lots of playing with chickens.

Swimming in a big water trough

Aspen and Nick

Heath, Aspen and Nick warming up and drying off.

Love this picture of Aspen and Nick sharing a chair relaxing on the porch of the sweet club house my amazing hubby built- which deserves a post of its own!

All tired out watching a movie

It just wouldn't be complete with out a fire and roasting hot dogs and Nick riding a 4 wheeler :)

Thanks for the visit cousins!! (I cant believe I didn't get a picture of little Joseph! :(
